Sometimes it is helpful to utilize medication for mental health issues. During a psychiatric evaluation, you will meet with the psychiatric provider for approximately one hour. During this time, the provider will obtain family history, medical history, symptoms, and history of your current issues. If it is decided by you and the provider that medication would be beneficial you will get a prescription and will follow up with the provider to make sure you are benefiting from the medication and not having serious side effects.
